Justin Duft

Justin Duft, JD, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, MSFS®

Vice President, Advanced Planning

Justin joined Commonwealth in June 2007. As vice president of Advanced Planning, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the department, as well as providing a resource for advisors on issues involving trust, estate, tax, charitable, social security, business, insurance, and education planning. Justin has a JD from New England Law Boston, with a focus on estate, trust, and tax law; an MS in financial services from The American College of Financial Services; and a BS in business administration from Northeastern University. He holds Massachusetts life, accident, and health insurance licenses; the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional certification; the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) certification; the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) certification; a Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS); and FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, and 63 securities registrations. Before joining Commonwealth, Justin worked for Renaissance Insurance Group as a marketing representative and held positions with John Hancock and Ernst & Young.

Krista Teegarden

Krista Teegarden, CLU®,  ChFC®, CPWA®, CSLP®, NSSA®, CEPA®

Team Lead, Advanced Planning

Krista joined Commonwealth in September 2018 as an advanced planning consultant. As team lead, she partners with advisors on wealth management strategies that encompass estate, charitable, education, student loans, business, executive benefits, and social security planning strategies. Before joining Commonwealth, Krista supported independent advisors by conducting research and analysis, along with implementing sophisticated estate and business strategies for HNW clients. In addition, she collaborated with attorneys to design and implement nonqualified plans and executive benefits. Krista earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance at Biola University. She is a National Social Security Advisor (NSSA®) certificate holder and holds the following certifications: Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Certified Student Loan Professional (CSLP®), and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®). She holds a California life, accident, and health insurance license, as well as FINRA Series 7 and 24 securities registrations.

Anne Fontanet

Anne Fontanet, BCL, LLM, CPWA®, EA

Consultant, Advanced Planning

Anne joined Commonwealth in July 2022 as an advanced planning consultant. In this role, her responsibilities include reviewing and summarizing plan and legal documents, along with reviewing planning objectives to help identify opportunities to meet clients’ needs. Before joining Commonwealth, Anne was an associate attorney at Gosselin & Kyriakidis and a law clerk for criminal defense attorneys at various law offices. She spent four years at University College Dublin in Ireland and Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas in France pursuing a double degree in comparative law and international law, earning the French and Irish equivalent of an American JD. She then earned an LLM in U.S. and international law from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Anne is also a licensed attorney in New York and an enrolled agent with the IRS.

Aric Jacobson

Aric Jacobson, JD, LLM, CFP®, CEP, TPCP®

Consultant, Advanced Planning

Aric joined Commonwealth in August 2020 as an advanced planning consultant. In this role, he provides financial planning support for advisors, including estate, trust, charitable, education, business, and social security planning strategies, and has expertise in equity compensation. Before joining Commonwealth, Aric worked for several financial service firms, including Edelman Financial Engines, Financial Knowledge, Pension Specialists, Optionwealth, and Ernst & Young. Aric graduated with a BS in biology from Tulane University, earned his JD from Tulane School of Law, and received an LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law. He is a member of the New York State Bar (retired) and the American Bar Association; is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioner; has the Certified Equity Professional certification (CEP); and holds FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations.

Bryan Fecteau

Bryan Fecteau, JD

Consultant, Advanced Planning

Bryan joined Commonwealth in December 2024 as an advanced planning consultant. In this role, he is responsible for reviewing and summarizing estate plans and other legal documents to educate financial advisors, along with analyzing client planning objectives to uncover opportunities aligned with their needs. Bryan also coaches advisors on managing client relationships and collaborating with attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals, with a focus on strategic, big-picture planning. Before joining Commonwealth, Bryan worked as an attorney at Delaney & Muncey and Goodwin Procter LLP. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Lehigh University and a JD from Boston University.

Mike Baum

Michael Baum, CFP®, RICP®

Supervisor, Paraplanning & Consultant, Advanced Planning

Mike joined Commonwealth in August 2008 and served in a variety of roles in Operations before joining the Advanced Planning team in 2017. After nearly five years with Advanced Planning, Mike worked for three years as an advisor with WHZ Strategic Wealth Advisors before reprising his role as an advanced planning consultant in January 2025. In this role, he provides financial planning support for advisors, including estate, trust, charitable, education, business, and retirement income planning strategies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut. Mike holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 security registrations and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) certifications.

William Salazar

William Salazar, CFP®

Advanced Planning Consultant, Advanced Planning

William joined Commonwealth in December 2023. In this role as an Advanced Planning Consultant, he provides financial planning support for advisors, including charitable, education, and tax planning strategies. Before joining Commonwealth, William was an associate advisor/practice manager for Lincoln Investment, where he specialized in client relationship management, plan implementation, and team operations. Earlier in his career, he founded and operated his own financial planning practice, gaining firsthand experience in client service, plan development, and the business of financial advice. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and holds his Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations, along with his Massachusetts Health and Life insurance license.

Connor Rulnick

Paraplanner, Advanced Planning

Connor joined Commonwealth in July 2024 as an associate paraplanner on the Advanced Planning team. In this role, his responsibilities include working collaboratively with advisors; helping with the development, implementation, and updating of financial plans; and assisting with client delivery as needed. Before joining Commonwealth, he worked as an intern at Atlantic Wealth Advisors. Connor graduated from Clark University with a BS in business management and an MBA.

Patrick Mealy

Patrick joined Commonwealth in August 2025 as an associate paraplanner on the Advanced Planning team. In this role, he collaborates closely with advisors to develop, implement, and update comprehensive financial plans. His responsibilities include conducting in-depth analysis, providing tailored insights for clients, and supporting client-facing delivery when needed. Before joining Commonwealth, Patrick worked as a client support specialist at eMoney Advisor, where he gained experience working with advisors to create plans and presentations for their clients in eMoney. He’s a graduate of UMass Amherst, where he earned a BS in economics.
